On the LX and S, a 2.5-liter four-cylinder makes 186 horsepower and 178 lb-ft, paired with an 8-speed automatic.

Headed east on the Beachline or up I-95 for a launch? EPA estimates put the front-wheel-drive LX and S at 23/31/26 mpg city/highway/combined and turbo all-wheel-drive trims at 20/27/23, all on regular 87-octane fuel. Actual mileage will vary with options, driving conditions, driving habits, and your vehicle's condition.

Climb into the second row of a 2027 Kia Sorento and you find a 60/40 bench in LX, S and EX models, which seat seven, or captain's chairs in the SX, X-Line and X-Pro trims, which seat six. The available EX Premium Package brings the chairs to front-wheel-drive EX models.

Every second row slides and folds at one touch for third-row access, and the third row splits 50/50. With all seats up, 12.6 cubic feet stays open for beach bags; fold the third row for 38.5 to 45.0 cubic feet, then the second for 75.5 cubic feet behind the front seats.

Out back, the 2027 Kia Sorento's Smart Power Liftgate, standard from the EX up, is designed to open when it senses your key, handy with an armful of beach chairs. The S, EX and SX carry roof rails, the X-Line and X-Pro trims wear high-utility rails, and crossbars are sold separately.

X-Pro SX Prestige AWD models carry the Sorento's maximum tow rating of 4,500 lb, EX and X-Line models are rated for up to 3,500 lb, and LX and S models for 2,000 lb, with additional towing equipment required. For 2027, Kia's headline change is Black Jade Green paint, replacing Jungle Green on EX and higher trims.
